CORE LANGUAGE COMPETENCYThe candidate should have adequate understanding of English and
Hindi language to deal with students of Elementary Classes. The ability to comprehend the texts and express them effectively in writing/orally will be measured through written test and interview.

COMBINED SELECTION SCREENING EXAMINATION : 


General1. 
There are 137 Army Public Schools(APS) located in various Cantonments and Military Stations across India. These schools are administered and managed by local Army authorities and affiliated to CBSE through Army Welfare Education Society(AWES). A List of these schools is placed atAnnexure 1.
2. There are approximately 8000 teachers on the rolls of these schools. Out of that, approximately 2000 get turned over every year due to various reasons.
Note:The exact number of vacancies will be projected by the School/Management while advertising for holding interviews/evaluation of teaching skills for selection of teachers.3. Status(a) All PGTs will be appointed on regular basis subject to one year probation extendable up to two years.
(b) TGTs – 50 % of TGTs (including activity teacher) held on the rolls of any school will be regular as per seniority. Others will be on 3 years contract ( if CTET/TET qualified) which will be extendable.
(c) PRTs - 30 % of PRTs (including activity teacher) held on the rolls of any school will be regular as per seniority. Others will be on 3 years contract( if CTET/TET qualified) which will be extendable.
4.
Salary Structure Basic and Grade Pay are generally comparable to Central Govt rates and Allowances will be decided by respective school management. The same will be subject to financial viability of the school.
5.
Selection Procedure. Will be done in three stages:-
(a)
Stage 1. Screening Exam, conducted on the Last Sunday of November/First Sunday of
December
every year, for vacancies that will arise during the ensuing academic year. This is conductedon-line by an agency identified by HQ AWES centrally to ensure uniform quality of teachers in all Army
Public Schools. Those who qualify in this stage will be given Score Cards which are valid for life provided
the candidates pick up teaching job in any CBSE affiliated school within three years from the date of
passing the screening exam. A Score Card will make candidates eligible to appear for the remaining
stages of the selection process. In addition to fresh candidates, the following may also appear for the
screening test:-
(i) Holders of Score Cards who want to improve their scores.

(ii) Those desirous of upgrading themselves. For E.g. a candidate holding Score
Card of TGT may now want to obtain a card for PGT, having acquired additional qualification.

(b) Stage II. Interview.
(c) Stage III Evaluation of Teaching skills and computer proficiency. For Language
teachers, written test comprising Essay& Comprehension of 15 marks each will be held
along with evaluation of teaching skills. Selection Committee may also hold Computer
proficiency tests if they so desire
Notes:
1.Stages II & III will be held in tandem under the aegis of Board of Administration at HQ
Command/School Management.
2. Appointments will be made as per CBSE/AWES Rules.
6. To qualify for interview and evaluation of teaching skills, the candidates have to pass a Screening
Examination. The next exam will be conducted on
26/27 November 2016. The general guidelines for
candidates are given in the succeeding paragraphs.

Note : HQ AWES conducts the Screening Examination on behalf of the Boards of Administration
at Regional Command Headquarters. Selection and appointment will be done by the Board of
Administration/School Administration and Management Committee. Grievances in selection
procedure if any will be addressed to Secretary Board of Administration at Regional Commands.

8.
Qualifications. The requisite qualifications are :-

(b) Age - As on 01 April 2017 :-
(i) Fresh Candidates - Below 40 years (except for NCR schools where TGT/PRT
should be < 29 yrs and PGT < 36 years)
(ii) Experienced Candidates - Below 57 years
(Should have minimum 5 years teaching experience in the last 10 years)(c) CTET/TET conducted by state governments is mandatory for TGTs/PRTs to be appointed Regular/Contractual. Others found fit in all other respects may be appointed on ‘Adhoc’ basis till attainment of qualification.However CTET/TET is not mandatory for appearing in CSB Screening exam.Please note that holding a Score Card by itself does not entitle you to appointment as
teacher in any Army Public School. It only renders you eligible for Stages II & III of the
selection process.

9. The Screening Exam for 2016 will be conducted as under:-
(a)
Date. 26/27 November 2016 as per schedule to be decided depending on the number of
candidates who register for the exam.

(b) Method. Test will be conducted ON-LINE in the MCQ format .For details see
table below.

1. Scores will be normalized to 100.
2. There will be negative marking.1/4 marks will be deducted fro each wrong answer.
3. Parts A & B will be will be available together and the candidates have freedom to answer questions in the order in which they prefer.

To qualify for a post, the candidate must score minimum 50 % marks in each part.
(c)
Exam FeeRs 600/-( non refundable).10. Registration. Candidates are expected to register ON-LINE for the screening exam by logging onto the Registration Portal http://aps-csb.in . The registration portal will be open from -17 August 2016 to 13
September 2016
. Candidates can register from 9AM on 17/8/2016 to 5PM on 13/09/2016. Thereafter the portal will be closed for registration. The procedure to be followed will be as under :-
(a) Log onto the web-site
http://aps-csb.in and study the detailed instructions for Registration that
will be available on the portal.
(b) Fill up the personal information or the application form.
(c) The system will then ask the candidates to pay the exam fee ON-LINE. Payment options are
Debit/Credit Cards/ Net banking/Bank Challan. A payment gateway has been integrated with the website for the purpose and candidates will be guided through the payment process.
(d) After payment of fee, the candidates will be asked by the system to attached following documents:-
(i) Photographs and signatures
(ii) Proof of date of birth
(iii) Certificates of academic qualifications.
Please ensure that you meet the educational and age criteria before you start registering yourself. If you do not, you are liable to be disqualified without refund of exam fees any time during the selection process and even thereafter whenever a discrepancy is noticed.

(e) Once registration is completed, the candidates will get a confirmation that you have successfully
registered yourself. Candidates will also be informed through e-mail and SMS regarding the same.
(f) A `Help Line’ will be available to the candidates to seek any assistance, till the conduct of the
exam. The helpline tab will be available on the portal
http://aps-csb.in(g) Candidates will also be given mock-tests ON-LINE to familiarize them with the exam procedure. A
link for this will be available on the Registration Portal with effect from
10 Oct 2016.

Exam Centres. A list of Exam Centres will be available on the Registration Portal. A tentative List is also placed atAnnexure 4. The candidates are required to fill in three choices in order of preference.Note : There may be some changes in the list of exam centres due to administrative reasons.
However no change will be made after issue of Admit Cards.
12. Admit Cards. Admit Cards will be available ON-LINE. Candidates may download and print the same.
The same should be produced for gaining entry to the Exam Centre.
Candidates are advised to read the instructions appended to the Admit Cards carefully.
13.
Exam Results. Will be put up on the AWES web-site www.awesindia.com.
14.
Score Card. The Score Cards of successful candidates will be available on the Registration Portal
after the exam which the candidates may download and laminate. The card will be valid for life provided the candidate takes up
teaching position in any CBSE recognized school within 3 years of issue of Score Card.
15. Timelines(a) Registration - 17 August to 13 September 2016.
(b) Availability of - 15 November 2016( Tentative. Will be informed
Admit cards on-line after uploading)

(c) Exam - 26/27 November 016.
(d) Publication of - 15 December 2016.

Past Years’ Question Papers Past five years’ question papers are available for which desirous
candidates have to demand by logging onto to the appropriate link on the Registration Portal
http://aps-csb.inand making payment on-line. Once you have made payment successfully, you need to login after 24 hours and your paper(s) will be available for download.NotesNo hard copies will be sent. Only on-line payments through Registration Portal will be accepted. Please do not send cheques/drafts/postal orders/money orders.

Costs of the papers are as under :-
(a) Part A - Rs 100/-
(b) Part B - Rs 100/-( specify subject)

17. Follow up Action As soon as the results are uploaded on AWES website, the candidates who have
qualified are advised to access Registration Portal/AWES website
www.awesindia.com for details of vacancies available in schools and download Application Form for interview. The forms will be available on school websites also. Application form complete in all respects will be submitted to the school where the candidate is desirous of seeking teaching appointment by20 Jan 2017 positively. Advertisements will also be published locally by the school/management.

Selection Procedure :
The selection of the candidates shall be made on the basis of written test and interview. The written test will be conducted in English. All the eligible candidates who apply with the requisite fee and whose applications are received in time will be called for a written test, which will comprise the
following:

(a) Written test marks : 175 marks & Interview – 25 marks ;
(b) There shall be Negative Marking for wrong answers.;
(c) Marking the answers with Black ink Ball Pen only ;
(d) Exam question contents would be as under :
(i) Reasoning & Computer Aptitude.
(ii) Quantitative Aptitude.
(iii)General & Financial Awareness.
(iv)English Language.
Time allotted : 120 minutes.


Marks obtained in the written test will be reckoned for merit ranking. Accordingly, candidates will be called for interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies only those candidates who rank
sufficiently high in the written test will be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:4. Mere
eligibility/pass in the test shall not vest any right for being called for interview. The detailed
information regarding the written test will be given in the “Acquaint yourself” booklet which is
available on the Bank‟s website, bank which can be downloaded by the candidates.

Final selection will be on the basis of the ranking accorded, after adding the marks obtained in the
written test and interview.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) invites Online Applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment to the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist). Candidates are requested to apply On-Line only. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.  

How to Apply

Application Procedure 


1. Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on 01.12.2015 are required to go to the LIC’s website www.licindia.in and click on the ‘Careers’ to open the link “ Recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer 2016”. It redirects the candidates to the online registration page.
2. To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent.
 3. In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing "SAVE AND NEXT" tab. prior to submission of the online application candidates are advised to use the "SAVE AND NEXT" facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.
 4. Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details filled in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.
5. The Name of the candidate or his /her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
6. Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the 'Validate your details' and 'Save & Next' button.

The question paper will comprise of 90 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) each of one mark. The question paper is divided into four sections to test the reading, writing,

Section III - Grammar - 25 Marks
Section IV - History of English Literature and General awareness of English - 30 Marks
Section I - Will comprise of two unseen passages with a variety of comprehensive questions (MCQs). The questions will also include word attack skills and literary device.

Section III - Grammar
Section IV - History of English Literature and general awareness. MCQs based on the Classical and Contemporary literary work. Assorted and miscellaneous questions pertaining to important quotes, characters, sayings, novels, dramas and plays etc.

Note: The pattern for TGT and PGT remains the same. It is the degree of difficulty that varies. Candidates appearing for the TGT need to be well versed with the graduation level syllabus of English Literature and candidates appearing for the PT need to have command over the basic PG syllabus generally.
